WOO HOO!!!!
I do hope you'll take a look at:
Aboard a slave ship, the thaumaturge Orv explains to Adaeze how fortunate she is to be headed to America, where she can reach her full potential. The morally-conflicted Captain Tyce buys his former cargo, installing her in his household, where she gives birth to a blue-eyed child Hope. While Adaeze remains a slave, the lovely Hope succumbs to the seductions of elite society, encouraged by Orv and the conniving Lady Perrin.
Adaeze’s diary travels through time to 1971, reaching Robin Doyle, an heiress shocked to learn of her bloodline. Orv appears to Robin and begins to work his wiles to push her towards unsavory choices. Robin feverishly reads Adaeze’s diary and Hope’s letters while seeking the path that’s right for her.
I originally envisioned a novel written solely from the demon Orv's POV, but Adaeze, Hope, and Robin demanded to speak. This may be because, not long ago, a friend pointed out that our home state of Rhode Island was the nexus of slavery until shortly before the Civil War. I literally have no memory of learning that in school. I had to explore. I humbly think what I've found makes for compelling reading.
